I’m not sure but depending on the day I think it could be either ; )
I just made this for book club last week and everyone loved it! We practically scarfed it down. It’s one of those recipes that hits so many flavor and texture profiles, you keep coming back for more.

Why You’ll Love This Charcuterie Board Salad and Dip
If you love a good charcuterie board, this recipe is for you! It takes all the best parts of a traditional meat and cheese board and turns them into an easy, scoopable appetizer.
- All the best charcuterie flavors in one bite. Salty cured meats, creamy cheese, briny olives, and tangy pepperoncini all come together in one delicious mixture.
- No fancy board required. Skip the arranging, slicing, and styling. Just chop everything up, toss it together, and serve!
- Perfect for parties. This is a great appetizer for game days, holidays, girls’ nights, or any time you need something easy to share.
- Easy to customize. Use your favorite cheeses, cured meats, and pickled vegetables to make this recipe your own.
- Ready in minutes. There’s no cooking involved, making this an especially easy appetizer to throw together at the last minute.

Ingredients You’ll Need
- Salami: Diced salami adds that classic cured-meat flavor and a satisfying, savory bite. (I like this kind from Columbus.)
- Pepperoni: Pepperoni brings a little extra spice and richness to the mix.
- Cheddar cheese: Sharp cheddar adds a deliciously tangy, savory flavor.
- Mozzarella cheese: I like to get the fresh tiny balls of Mozzarella -it balances the sharper ingredients with its mild, creamy flavor.
- Green olives: These add a salty, briny bite that works beautifully with the cheeses and meats.
- Kalamata olives: Kalamata olives have a rich, slightly fruity flavor that makes this mixture taste even more like a traditional Mediterranean-inspired charcuterie board. (This Mezzetta brand is my favorite.)
- Pepperoncini: These bring a bright, tangy flavor and just a little spice to balance the richness of the meat and cheese.
- Olive oil: A drizzle of olive oil helps coat all the ingredients and brings the flavors together.
- Balsamic vinegar: Balsamic adds a touch of sweetness and acidity that balances the salty meats, cheeses, and olives. Don’t skimp on the balsamic.
How to Make Charcuterie Board Salad and Dip
- Chop the ingredients. Dice the salami, pepperoni, cheddar, and mozzarella into small, bite-sized pieces. Finely chop the green olives, kalamata olives, and pepperoncini. The key is to chop everything small enough that you can scoop up a little bit of everything with each bite.
- Combine everything. Add all the chopped ingredients to a medium bowl and toss to combine.
- Add the dressing. Drizzle the mixture with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Stir everything together until the ingredients are lightly coated.
- Taste and adjust. Give it a taste and add a little more olive oil or balsamic vinegar if needed.
- Serve! Transfer to a serving bowl and serve with your favorite crackers, toasted baguette slices, pita chips, or crostini.
- Preparing ahead – best part? You can prepare everything ahead of time and just drizzle the olive oil and balsamic on right before serving.

Tips for the Best Charcuterie Board Salad and Dip
Chop everything into small, similar-sized pieces. This is the most important part of the recipe! You want the ingredients small enough to scoop up together, rather than ending up with one giant piece of salami or cheese on your cracker.
Drain the olives and pepperoncini well. Too much brine can water down the mixture and overpower the olive oil and balsamic. Drain them before chopping, and pat them dry if needed.
Use good-quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Since the dressing is so simple, these ingredients make a difference. You don’t need anything fancy, just ingredients you enjoy the taste of.
Let the flavors mingle. If you have time, prepare the mixture a little ahead of serving and refrigerate it. The flavors will have a chance to come together. Give it a good stir before serving.

What to Serve with Charcuterie Board Salad and Dip
This mixture is delicious served with a variety of dippers. Try it with:
- Buttery crackers
- Toasted baguette slices
- Pita chips
- Thin slices of toasted sourdough
You can also serve it alongside fresh vegetables or add a bowl of marinated artichoke hearts for an easy appetizer spread.
Can I Make This Ahead of Time?
Yes! You can chop the ingredients and combine them ahead of time, then refrigerate the mixture in an airtight container. For the freshest flavor and texture, add the olive oil and balsamic right before serving time. Mix everything together well before serving.
Because this recipe contains meat and cheese, keep it refrigerated until you’re ready to serve. Don’t leave it sitting at room temperature for more than two hours.
How to Store Leftovers
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. The ingredients may release a little moisture as they sit, so give everything a good stir before serving again. Add more balsamic and olive oil if serving again, and be sure to toss well.
