This Summer we wanted to plan a trip that would be a real destination for our kids. Since our kids were little they’ve been asking to come to the Great Wolf Lodge! With one only a couple hours away, we thought it’d be a great weekend trip.

In addition to being an easy trip, this summer Great Wolf Lodge has created an amazing family summer camp feel with their Summer Camp-In celebration. The Camp-In experience is meant to replicate the family camps of old where families would all come together for fun activates in a camp setting- except the best part of this experience was that the activities were weatherproof (and we had a very comfy bed to return to at the end of each day, rather than a mat on a tent floor 😉

The Summer Camp-In helps you relive the idea of family summer camp, with activities like s’mores nights, campfire sing-alongs, character breakfasts, pool parties, camp story time, and BBQs. We also loved how the lodges were decked out for summer camp. It was a great weatherproof summer getaway for our family. If you visit Great Wolf Lodge from Memorial Day to Labor Day this summer, you can experience their Summer Camp-In!

Our kids loved exploring everything at the Lodge – there were so many activities and exciting games around every corner. Not to mention delicious food and treats. The clue-based quest game- MagiQuest – was also a blast for my kids! They got clues and special magic wands to trace the clues to checkpoints all over the hotel. We actually got a lot of exercise playing the game all over the resort.

We were tired after so many fun activities each day; we loved sitting our nice room balcony and enjoying a cold Diet Coke. Look at those waterslides!

Not only does Great Wolf Lodge have an huge outdoor water park, but the indoor one has tons of different sized waterslides and pools – something for everyone in our family from age 2-35. We especially loved the big waterslides with tubes that the whole family could ride!

Elliott loved this toddler area!

We couldn’t get enough of the waterslides and pools!

Between the waterslides, character breakfasts, arcade, quest games, in-house Build-a-Bear workshop, and all the fun Summer camp-in activities, my kids were in heaven at Great Wolf Lodge.

During our trip we realized Great Wolf Lodge is not just an indoor & outdoor water park resort, they really are a whole family destination. There is something for everyone.

Have you ever been to Great Wolf Lodge? Click here to learn more about it and book your Summer stay – the Summer Camp-In experience is running through Labor Day. And they have lots of locations around the country. My kids are already asking when we can go back! What are your favorite summer vacation spots? Hope you have a great summer!
