Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownies

In today’s world, when someone says “this is the best you’ll ever eat” I’m very skeptical. There are so many “best ofs” out there on the internet. That being said, these Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownies are MY favorite brownies. Here’s why:

  • They are not too sweet. Most brownies are so sweet I can’t even really taste the chocolate flavor because of all the sugar. These have a darker chocolate flavor (I don’t want to say bitter because they are still sweet, but they’re more bitter than most brownies).
  • They are so chewy! (with that great little crispy top)
  • It has chunks of chocolate in each bite – I love this.
  • They come together so easily –  5 minutes to the oven – and all the ingredients are things you have on hand.
  • No melting chocolate to incorporate in the batter.
  • The recipe makes a 9×13″ pan – I don’t know why but I hate it when I need a big batch of brownies and the recipe is for an 8×8″ pan.

Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. butter, melted
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/4 c. chocolate chunks (you can use chocolate chips too)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 Fahrenheit. Line a 9x13" pan with parchment paper and grease well (I use cooking spray).
  • Whisk together dry ingredients and set aside.
  • Stir butter with sugars. Slowly stir in eggs and vanilla.
  • Add combined dry ingredients to wet. Mix until just incorporated.
  • Fold in 3/4 c. of the chocolate chunks (reserving 1/2 c. for the top). Pour into the prepared 9x13" greased pan.
  • Sprinkle remaining 1/2 c. of chocolate chunks on top of batter.
  • Bake for 26-28 minutes until set. Remove from oven and let rest 20 minutes for before eating, to allow brownies to finish cooking and set up.

I hope you love these Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownies as much as we do! They are such a great gift to bring to friends or neighbors, and they make a big enough pan that you can save a couple for your family.
